WebSep 26, 2009 · BEFORE you start honking on the bolts, you might spray them with a good penetrant. Follow the instructions on the can, usually tap on the bolt to help the penetrant. Some people recommend turning the fastener IN maybe 1/8 or 1/4 turn BEFORE trying to remove it. This helps break the rust loose. WebUsually we use the oxy torch to heat em up and then drill em out. If this trick saves 1 in 5 bolts from having to be drilled out, it's a huge bonus. I wonder if it works with pins too. edit - I'm not talking about pissy little automotive bolts either.
